Requirements for Math
23A
To be eligible to
enroll in Math 23B you must meet one of the following criteria:
 |
Passing Score in
Math 23A |
 |
Transfer credit (call Andrea
Gilovich at 459-4691) |
Grading Policy
 |
Homework (20%) |
 |
2 Midterms (22.5% each) |
 |
Final (35%) |
From these scores I
will produce an overall score for each student; these overall scores will
be put on a curve for the class. Based on experience from previous
courses, an overall score of around 60% is sufficient to pass (no
guarantee of course.) It is possible to pass even if one does fail a
particular exam. However, you will not pass if you fail all your exams
even if you have perfect scores on your homework.

Homework
Homework assignments are from the textbook and what
sections are assigned is based on the actual
lecture schedule.
Overall, your TA is in charge of handling the homework assignments, i.e.
homework is typically collected and returned in section or the TA's office
hours. The list of assigned problems and due dates can be found on the
class web site.
