 | Be organized; know what's due and when.
|
 | Make study plans for the day and week.
|
 | Set reasonable and achievable goals. You can do this for instance by
breaking down a goal into smaller units. Example: Instead of a broad goal like
"Prepare for the midterm" break this down into "Do the practice exam; go to
the review session; make list of formulas to memorize; ....".
|
 | Know times and locations of available resources. These web pages will
assist you in doing that, but I would still recommend you have a page where you always
record important information. For instance the first or last page of your notebook with
the lecture notes is very suitable for that.
|
 | Make frequent use of available resources. These resources are there
for you !
|
 | If possible try to be prepared for exams a day or two early. This
gives you enough time to get final questions answered and avoids late panic (which is
usually counter-productive).
|
 | Get enough sleep before exams days. All night cramming will do more
harm than good for most people. This is especially true for 8 o'clock exams.
|
 | Balance work and play. Give yourself room to have some fun too.
|
 | Form a study group. Ideally a study group should have 3-5 students.
Make sure that everybody contributes and understands.
|
 | Stay on top of things; it is very hard to catch up in the quarter
system. This is especially true in Mathematics.
