Section/TA's

There will be weekly discussion sections for you to help you apply the concepts discussed in class. Given that this is a summer sessions class and people's schedules are quite varied, sections are not mandatory, BUT are highly recommended. Details about times and locations of sections will be announced/discussed on the first day of classes. The TA will be Jennifer Mogel, jmogel@count.ucsc.edu. Details on section time and her office hours as well as the locations thereof will be announced later.

Homework Assignments

Homework assignments are based on the lecture and the textbook. Homework will be assigned, submitted and graded on-line at  http://west.ilrn.com/ilrn/. I will e-mail you the assignments as a PDF file or you can get them from the class web site or the http://west.ilrn.com/ilrn/ web site. The course code/key to allow you to be able to submit on-line homework is

E-5U84SX2S5WVY4

Homework is usually due on Fridays at 10pm. The first homework is due Friday, June 29th at 10pm. It will cover Chapter 3 material. You can download a PDF-file with similar questions here. The problems in the pdf file are referenced to the corresponding problems in our textbook. Keep in mind that the problems in the pdf file will be slightly different (usually just different numbers) when compared to your actual assignment. This gives you extra chance for practice and it allows me to let ILRN give feedback without giving away the answers. More on this in class.
