ALEKS

Left Up Right

ALEKS is an excellent tool to review algebra. See http://www.aleks.com/ for more
detailed information. Here is how using this software package works:
You take an assessment test at the beginning and
let the program guide you to what you need to
review. This is an excellent resource for
independent review work. The downside is that is
not free since it is produced by a company, but
access for 6 weeks is a reasonable $21.  You can
buy access codes by going to
www.mhhe.com/sem/aleks or buy them when you sign up for your course.  (The company who
produces ALEKS is owned by McGraw Hill, a major
textbook publishing house).

The goal of this online resource is for you to independently review
algebra concepts as  background preparation to
learning Calculus which in the long run will
help you succeed in Mathematics and other science courses. However, please
remember
that the key element to your success here at UCSC
is your motivation and quest for learning.  We
are delighted to be able to offer you different pathways of learning
and we are confident that your motivation and
hard work will continue to make you a successful
student.

Here are the course codes for the following courses:

Then you have to supply an access code or purchase access. Follow the link to do so, for instance 6 weeks access will cost $21 roughly.  Send me an e-mail or come by during office hours if you have questions.
